Map is very buggy often times getting overlayed with half a page wrong, while the checkpoints save, the maps themselves don't, so if you leave the game and come back you have to go to the specific parts of the map to access them again.
Not sure if Baelz's memory works too well. Or Irys's... . Ames don't get entered into the book properly. Controls are bit... weird. Oh yeah there's a section in the shattered glass where you can see the little fox hanging outside the map.
I like the different movement options available and the general ambience of the game.
There's a lot to explore and discover around the multiple areas in the game and I enjoyed unlocking abilities as I progressed.
The map design got me lost sometimes as I was not sure which way to go to progress. I also had trouble figuring out how to control the wall jump. I had a hard time aligning the jump in the desired direction.
I didn't get to the end of the game (stopped after getting the glide ability, some 45 minutes into the game) but I can see a lot of work and love was put into this project!
Some improvement suggestions:
- Permanently display the keybinds somewhere on the screen. I forgot which key opened the book and started pressing random keys until I got it. (it was the R key)
- I also found how to open the menu after pressing every key. I would've never guessed it was the ENTER key!
- This is probably an input bug but sometimes I would get super long jumps when dashing, overshooting my intended landing spot.
- Bug: Clicking on the bookmarks to change the book pages stops working if you click inside the map page. (This happened before getting the fast travel ability, didn't try it again after getting it) Using Q/E keys becomes the only way to navigate out of the map page.
- (edit) Bug: I forgot to mention the game launched on fullscreen mode but the UI didn't fit correctly in ultrawide aspect ratio!
Overall, a really good game with lots of content to discover! Good job!
The game is really good, it was a lot of fun to play with the physics and the dashes, to look for secrets and artifacts, so many references, so much love put into it. I could talk about the many bugs and the lack of polish, but of course I know that the team probably didn't have the time needed to work on the project more, not in time to deliver this tribute, especially knowing the care you have with the games.
So, for the tribute, thank you very, very much. We moomin forever.
the game is great, but there are quite a few bugs, one in particular happened twice were my game completely broke with mumei stuck in the ground and the camera stuck looking at the skye, my health would completely disappear and no matter what i did i couldn't go back to normal not even spawning or exiting the game could solve i then i would start teleporting all over the map, this happened out of nowhere the first time the second time was when i exit the game
Starting positive, I love Moom, I love what you're going for, I love the art direction, and I love the map design. It took me a little over an hour to get to the credits, which I could get without needing to collect literally everything. The movement controls are fun and you get to do some silly things with the physics.
However, there's a numerous amount of bugs, the camera can be the enemy, the menuing in general is a bit tough to navigate, and the separate pause menu isn't obvious to reach. The combat is strained, with the power abilities requiring rune energy and the reach being barely larger than most of the Ame's leads to a lot of running around waiting for the energy to recharge. But the biggest depressing thing for me was that I couldn't find every item so I couldn't see every area or figure out how to get through the miasma at the bottom of Fauna's tree. I could never find a second part to the red bookmark. Maybe some sort of menu option to be able to turn on an arrow that points to the items so that we can explore and still get the item as intended without missing out on content would be nice.
Some notable bugs: Opening the game after beating it locks you some sort of inescapable cutscene. Often the map pages are obscured by a blank page in the journal. Sometimes I get locked in an animation and can't move when I warp while falling or sliding down a wall.
Overall, this game is great, I love so much about it, it just needs polishing.

Love the atmosphere of the game
That being said, it's quite buggy.
